Testing or monitoring conditions prior to entry will be conducted by the host-facility unit operator, designated Safety personnel, or responsible supervisor or competent person, by the use of a calibrated, direct-reading, gas monitor.
The tests shall be performed in this order:
Oxygen concentration (19.5% - 23.0% range)
- Flammable gases/vapours (less than 10% of LEL)
- Potential toxic concentrations (less than occupational exposure limits)
- Flammable gases/vapours (less than 10% of LEL)
- The results shall be recorded on the entry permit, and entry into the confined space will not be allowed, unless the defined acceptable entry conditions are met.
