Duties of Entry Supervisors
  1. Corsafety.ca shall assign responsibility for supervision to a person who is competent and adequately trained to supervise the job before any worker enters a confined space.
  1. Corsafety.ca must ensure that all entry supervisors:
    1. Know the hazards that may be faced during entry, including information on the mode, signs or symptoms, and consequences of the exposure.
    2. Verify that all pre-entry tests and inspections specified by the permit have been conducted and all written procedures and equipment specified by the permit are in place and review potential hazards and results of monitoring with all entrants before signing the permit and allowing entry to begin.
    3. The precautions identified in the written procedures and the precautions required by local regulatory requirements or, which are otherwise necessary for the health and safety of workers are followed.
    4. Terminate the entry and cancel the permit as required.
    5. Verify that rescue services are available and the means to summon them are operable.
    6. Remove unauthorized individuals who enter or attempt to enter the permit space during entry operation.
    7. Determine whenever responsibility for permit space entry operation is transferred, and at intervals dictated by the hazards and operations performed within the space, that entry operations remain consistent with terms of the entry permit an acceptable entry condition are maintained.
    8. Coordinate entry operations for multi-employers so that personnel of one employer do not endanger personnel of any other employer.
