These are some definitions that will be useful to you in your position relating to the safety program.
Accident - an unplanned or undesired event that can result in, or has the potential to cause, personal injury or property damage, or both.
- Incident - an undesired event that, under slightly different circumstances, could have resulted in personal harm, property damage or loss.
- Near Miss - a deviation from a standard, that could have but does not, result in injury or property damage.
