When workers are working alone, the OHS Code requires our Company to:
conduct a hazard assessment to identify existing or potential safety hazards in the workplace associated with working alone;
- implement safety measures to reduce the risk to workers from the identified hazards;
- ensure that workers have an effective way of communicating with their employer, immediate supervisor or another designated person in case of an emergency situation; and
- ensure that workers are trained and educated so they can perform their job safely
Employees must establish an effective means of communication between the worker and the our Company on-call staff.
- Employees must provide the answering service with the site supervisor's name and contact number, the worker's name and phone number and the worksite number and location.
- Employees must ensure the on-call supervisor has directions to the worksite.
On WellSites designated as "Sour", at any percentage concentration of H2S, a minimum of two (2) persons shall be present while performing Well Servicing. There shall never be any condition which results in only one (1) Corsafety.ca Systems Inc. employee being present at a Sour WellSite working alone.
For "Sweet" Well Servicing, a field hand may work alone when using Corsafety.ca's Working Alone procedures. Please see the Working Alone Policy and your immidiate supervisor for details.
