First Aid Training
1.1 An approved training agency provides the first aid training to candidates for a certificate in Standard First Aid - Level B w/ CPR.

1.2 A worker who successfully completes the training by an approved training agency must meet the standards for a certificate in emergency first aid, standard first aid or advanced first aid that are adopted by the Director of Medical Services in consultation with the Joint First Aid Training Standards Board.

1.3 An employer or prime contractor ensure that first aid services, first aid equipment, supplies and the first aid room required by this Code are located at or near the work site they are intended to serve, and available and accessible during all working hours.

1.4 CorSafety.ca will ensure that the first aid equipment and supplies are maintained in a clean, dry and serviceable condition, contained in a material that protects the contents from the environment, and clearly identified as first aid equipment and supplies.

1.5 CorSafety.ca will post, at conspicuous places at the work site, signs indicating the location of first aid service, equipment and supplies. Also new employees will be orientated to ensure that each worker knows the location of first aid services, equipment and supplies.

1.6 CorSafety.ca will ensure that an emergency communication system is in place for workers to summon first aid services.

1.7 CorSafety.ca has a procedure 12.3.1 to ensure that before workers are sent to a worksite that arrangements are in place to transport injured or ill workers from the work site to the nearest health care facility.

1.8 CorSafety.ca's Safety Manual follows the First Aid requirements of the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Acts, Regulations and Codes in relation to our responsibility to ensure that the number of first aiders at a work site and their qualifications and training comply with Schedule 2, Tables 5,6, or 7.

1.9 CorSafety.ca will retain all safety records for 3 years from the date the incident is recorded.
