A mixed load of gases included in different divisions of class 2, transported together in a road vehicle, may be identified by a DANGER placard and a primary class placard for the most dangerous gas according to the following decreasing order of danger:
Except for any dangerous goods that require an ERAP, proper placards and UN number are still required. See Schedule 1 for ERAP requirements in the TDG Regulations
However, the oxidizing gas placard must always be displayed instead of the class 2.2, non-flammable, non-toxic gas when transporting certain class 2.2 gases.
On the other hand, after August 31 2008, the new placard for ANHYDROUS AMMONIA, UN1005 or the class 2.3 placard must be displayed at all time on a large means of containment. Before this date, placards for class 2.2, class 2.3 or anhydrous ammonia can be displayed. When the UN1005 placard is displayed, the words "Anhydrous Ammonia, Inhalation Hazard" must also be
displayed on the large means of containment, on a contrasting background in letters with a width of at least 6 mm and a height of at least 50 mm.
