Common Workplace Hazards / Compressed Gas Cylinders
  1. Storage area should be located away from vehicle paths.

  2. Storage should be divided and marked as areas for "Full" & "Empty".

  3. Appropriate measure should be taken to separate cylinders containing substances that could produce an explosive atmosphere if mixed.

  4. Cylinders should have valve protection caps in place whenever they are not connected.

  5. When transporting, cylinders must be secured (preferably in their upright position) so they can not fall or roll.

  6. All cylinders must not be exposed to heat sources that generate temperatures that may result in the failure or explosion of the contents or the system.
