Disciplinary Program
Violations of the company safety rules, regulations and poor work performance by employees indicate a breakdown in the Safety Management system. These deficiencies must be corrected by the Foreman or Manager immediately; before they become standard practices and disrupt the normal work environment. Failure on the part of Foreman and Manager to immediately correct a violation is the equivalent of the Foreman or Manager giving his/her permission to violate the rules.

Even after all reasonable and honest attempts have been made to educate, train and communicate with employees; some employees will habitually ignore or knowingly violate the rules and regulations until they are held accountable for their actions. Then and only then will the violations cease.

Not with standing you as a Foreman or Manager are morally and legally bound to correct these occurrences before they become standard practice.

Unfortunately, disciplinary action is only workable alternative open to the Foreman or Manager to correct these deficiencies. Disciplinary action is administered fairly and consistently allowing all of our employees to conform to required behaviour.

Disciplinary Action Sequence
Disciplinary Action normally follows a progressive sequence, however some instances or circumstances may require the immediate suspension or termination of the employee.

The progressive Disciplinary Action Sequence is as follows;
  1. Verbal Warning -

The Foreman or Manager will make contact with the employee and explain the nature of the violation and request that the employee follow the proper method, procedure or rule.

The employee is instructed that failure to conform will result in further disciplinary action.

    Verbal warning must be documented.
  1. First Written Warning -

Generally issued when talking fails to convince the employee to conform to the proper method, procedure or rule or the seriousness of the violation demands a written warning.

The nature of the violation and pertinent information is documented on a warning notice; a copy of the warning notice is given to the employee and a copy is retained by the Foreman or Manager and the third copy is sent to the Human Resource Department for filing.

The employee will be informed that continued violations will result in a second written warning accompanied by a 1- 3 day suspension without pay.
  1. Second Written Warning -

The final opportunity for the employee to assess his/her position with the company.

The nature of the violation and pertinent information is documented on a warning notice; a copy of the warning notice is given to the employee and a copy is retained by the Foreman or Manager and the third copy is sent to the Human Resource Department for filing.

The employee is informed that continued violations will result in a Third Written Warning and the immediate termination of the employee by the CorSafety.
  1. Third Written Warning -

If an employee fails to or refuses to conform to the proper method, procedure or rule, it is apparent that the employee is unsuited for this particular work environment.

The nature of the violation and pertinent information is documented on a warning notice; a copy of the warning notice is given to the employee and a copy is retained by the Foreman or Manager and the third copy is sent to the Human Resource Department for filing.

The employee will be escorted to remove personal belongings and then escorted off the property.
