Whenever breathing equipment is required, the company must prepare a code of practice governing the selection, training, fit testing, maintenance and use of the equipment
- All employees requiring the use of respiratory protective equipment must be Fit Tested in accordance with legislation
- All employees must be clean shaven so that facial hair does not interfere with the proper fit of the respirator
- There are two main types of respiratory protection:
APR's - Air purifying respirators
- SAR's - Supplied air respirators
