The WHMIS program is made up of 3 Parts:
1. Labels
Warning labels on containers of hazardous materials
- 2. MSDS
These Material Safety Data Sheets contain detailed information on the hazard and how to handle the materials safely.
- 3. Worker Education
Employers must provide instruction to each worker on how to use WHMIS, what hazardous materials are on site, and how to handle them properly, and workers must participate and apply the training provided by the employer.
